What Fruit Became Shameful…

What Fruit Became Shameful…

When praying on our knees everything changes. Being quiet, sitting still and praying are wonderful and help to keep the connection between ourselves and God fully awake and alive, but there is something that changes when on our knees. There are no words as it is one of those situations that reaches beyond our understanding. The only of certainty is – something is different about praying on ones knees instead of another position.

What happens when sin runs our lives? We seek more. What happens when righteousness is driving the bus? We seek more. Can the two occupy the same space at the same time? It appears that would be a challenge possibly falling short of its mark.

I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness. ~Romans 7:19 NKJB

If a person is going to be a slave why not be a slave to righteousness? Which fruit tastes sweetest? A fruit born of harmony, love and respect or one born of disarray, hatred and lust? Seems like an easy choice until the devil dresses up in a “mask” we didn’t expect and at just right the moment reveals the nature behind the mask – which is usually quiet different than the “mask” itself.

For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. What fruit did you have then in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life. ~Romans 20-22 NKJB

Either the Gospel is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of Him, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
